Another Amazing Night! £101,000 Donated by Supporters!

We couldn’t have done it without you! Our amazing supporters really dug deep at our annual fundraising dinner last week and donated a staggering £101,000!

The night kicked off with a romantically atmospheric champagne reception, sponsored by Lifestyle by Apple Apartments, followed by an intensely powerful opening set by Danny Beard, an all-round great guy, Winner of Drag Idol 2015 and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist.

Thankfully, we had an exceptionally experienced host in British comedian and TV personality, Alan Carr, who managed to corral the excited audience into some semblance of respectability in time for our first game of the evening.

If you knew the answer to some random questions based on the celebrities in the room, for example, ‘Which fashion house did Julien MacDonald first work for?’ or ‘Which James Bond films did Lizzie Cundy appear in?’, you may have won a bottle of vodka and a £200 voucher to Jamie’s Italian …

Senior Trustee of the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, Lee Marshall, along with Arif Adam, Educator with Diversity Role Models, helped remind the guests of the purpose of the evening by sharing their personal and heart-rending experiences of bullying.

While continuing to out-bid each other on the silent auction items available on the night, guests were presented with an amazing 3-course meal designed by celebrity chef, Paul Hollywood.

Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson, Sports Commentator, did the business with the live auction and cleared the desks of money-can’t-buy Lots like lunch with Ben Cohen at Michel Roux’s Le Gavroche and a super yacht trip in the Balearic Sea.

Judge Robert Rinder presided over the sofa chat with Alan Carr and together they had the audience in stitches. They also generously shared about their personal lives and experiences.

Guests ended up dancing away to the sultry tones of Fillet O Soul till the early hours of the morning.

Not only did the event raise much-needed funds, it served to link-up like-minded people who came together to tackle bullying on the night, and who will establish symbiotic relationships going into the future with the same desire of creating a world of understanding and kindness.

We couldn’t have achieved such a successful evening without the help of our sponsors – Aon, Beynond Analysis, the Wine Rack and Lifestyle by Apple Apartments, suppliers – the Grange, St Paul’s Hotel, Harvey Thorneycroft LtdGivergy, and the donors of the amazing raffle and auction prizes.

Many thanks to all!
